As a former tomboy, jewellery has been a huge part of how I express my femininity & masculinity. They’re oxymoronically bold yet subtle and carry all sorts of meanings. They encapsulate the various intersections of my identity like my Indian heritage and queerness and have been a great source of comfort & pride to my Indian and queer cultures. I remember learning about the significance of carabiners in the queer community and made a makeshift one off of a bike chain I had. It made me feel like I belong without having to claim it explicitly. My jewellery box is a spectrum of personas that are all a part of me waiting for the right occasion to shine. It’s been my pathway to reconnect, explore and remake myself.
